Real People Collaboration has supported the work of the Peel Poverty Action Group by accessing funds to support 2 summer students. The Peel Poverty Action Group is a grassroots organization of people experiencing intersectional poverty, housing precarity, food and income insecurity.
Through their advocacy and community support, they had the summer students research, edit, and produce issues of Tough Times publications. Through this successful partnership, one summer student has been continuing with PPAG as an intern of her university journalism degree. In addition, Real People Collaboration is also supporting PPAG with community consultations on the draft Peel Substance Use Strategy.
Results of these findings and the final strategy will be available early 2026
